Obituary of Maria Dubanow

DUBANOW, Maria Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children Nick, George and Tina, and her 5 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, her sister Anna in the Ukraine and many other extended family members. Maria is predeceased by her loving husband Leo (1994) and her sister Olga (1999 in the US). She had a gift for languages, Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese are some examples. Maria left the Ukraine in 1942 and was put into forced labor until 1945. She had met the love of her life in West Germany (French zone) and got married in 1949. They moved to Venezuela in 1950 and raised their children. Maria and Leo moved their family to Canada (Timmins, On) in 1960 and later moved to St. Catharines in 1965. In accordance to Maria's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family service has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted with the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, (905)-937-4444. Because Falcor could not speak, memorial donations to the Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
