Obituary of Andrew (Andrzej) Sokolowski

SOKOLOWSKI, Andrew (Andrzej) It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Andrew Sokolowski at the age of 70 on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at his home in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Andrew was born in Dunfermline, Scotland on September 22, 1945. Loving husband to Maria for 45 years. Father to Andrew Jr (Ruth) and Dariusz. Dear grandfather to Mathew, Tess and Tyler. Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Wladyslaw. He leaves behind brother Brian in Sweden, brothers-in-law Wladyslaw, Stanley, and Edward Ogorzalek in Poland, sister-in-law Ola, many nieces and nephews in England, Poland and Canada. Andrew was retired from General Motors after 24 years. Special thanks to Dr. J. Adams for his care and compassion. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Wednesday, July 6 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 73 Picton St., Niagara-on-the-Lake on Thursday, July 7 at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the NHS - St. Catharines (Oncology).
