Obituary of Giuseppa Traina-Mortellaro

MORTELLARO, Giuseppa (nee Traina) On Thursday, June 16, 2016 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Giuseppe (2005). Cherished mother of Rosalia "Lia" (Giovanni) Canzoneri. Loving Nonna of Marco (Gail), David. Nonna to her great-grandchildren, Chardon, Taylor, Matteo and Lexxus. She will be fondly missed by her brother Giovanni (Dina) from St. Catharines and her other sibblings Pietro (Angelina), Maria (Pietro) Trupia, Vincenzo (Concettina) and sister-in-law Antonina all from Italy. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Maurizio, Laura (Anto) and the Castelli/Rivolta families, and many other extended family members. Pina is predeceased by her brother Antonino. Giuseppa (Pina) was born on August 18, 1928 in Bivona, Agrigento, Italy. Pina will forever be remembered for her strength, generous heart and her commitment to her family. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the CCAC, Case Manager Julie Fulker, Susan Davis and Dr. Dudu Pallie. Pina's family will receive guests at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be held at St. Alfred's Catholic Church, 272 Vine St., on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. A Rite of Committal will take place following the service at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, Queenston St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or MS would be greatly appreciated by the family.
