Obituary of George Clifton Neron

NERON, George Passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the St Catharines Hospital at the age of 77 after a 2 year battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Frances (nee Orr) for 53 years. Cherished father of Christopher (Pam) Neron and Teresa (Michael) Madsen. Loving Poppa to his grandchildren Carl-John and Lexie Madsen. Special brother of Margaret (Harold) Graham, Marie (the late Reg) Menard and Evelyn (Rick) Felstead. Brother-in-law to Lorainne (the late John) Orr and Jean Smith. He will be sadly missed by his 11 nieces and nephews. George will be fondly remembered by his Uncle Joe (Mavis) Camisa and Aunt Micky (the late Jack) Prudhomme. George was employed at General Motors for over 30 years until his retirement in 1999. He was an avid bowler. George served with both the Royal Canadian Airforce and the United States Navy. A special thanks to Dr. Wasserman, Dr. Bokhari, Dr. Torigian and the Nursing Staff of Unit 3B at the St. Catharines General as well as the Walker Family Cancer Center for all their care and support. In accordance to George's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will recieve visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
