Obituary of Georgina Keghouie Sarkisian

SARKISIAN, Georgina Keghouie (nee Tapalian) BA, B.Ed, M.Ed Passed away unexpectedly but peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 16th, six days shy of her 83rd birthday. Predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Charles Garabed. Dedicated and devoted mother to Sam (Lois), George (Karen), Martin, Julia (Loris) Dumanian and Gregory (Silvia). Cherished and beloved Grandma of Blaze, Haig (Lauren), Tamar, Armen, Vaughan, Sevan, Tobin and Seth. She leaves behind many lifelong friends and family, especially Audrey and Ara Torigian. Georgina taught for almost 25 years at Kernahan Park High School, was a proud Brock University graduate, and a 60 year dedicated member of St. Gregory's Armenian Church. The family will receive visitors at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, May 19th from 2-4pm and 6-9pm, with Prayer Service at 7pm. Christian Burial Service on Friday, May 20th at St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Apostolic Church, 49 Carlton Street, St. Catharines at 10:30am. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery will follow after the reception. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to St. Gregory's Armenian Church.
