Obituary of Kathleen Woods

WOODS, Kathleen- Born on August 25th, 1918 in Glasgow, Scotland. Passed peacefully and surrounded by her family, on Mother's Day, May 8, 2016 joining her husband Thomas Woods. Survived by her children Margaret and Gerald Donachie, Kathleen Kelly and Andy Gendron, Thomas and Anne Woods, and Maria and John Edmiston. Leaves behind her grandchildren Stephen and Luz Elena Donachie, Gary Kelly and Gary Kempler, Elaine and Gerry O'Neill, Greg and Tara Kelly, Iain and Jacqui Donachie, Kathleen Anne and Ron Hoogendoorn, Brian and Robyn Woods, Jeff McClelland, Jillian and Julian Teske, and Laura and Jeremy Pinard. Loved and enjoyed her 21 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Kathleen was an active member of the choir and long term parishioner at St. Alfred's Church in St. Catharines. She will be missed by friends and extended family spanning the globe. Gran's presence will be fondly remembered at Ina Grafton Social Club, the casino and charity bingo. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support, the March of Dimes staff at Faith Lutheran, Dr. Boily and the caring staff at NHS. Kathleen retired from St. Catharines General Hospital in 1983. Kathleen's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, May 11th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Catholic Church, 272 Vine Street on Thursday, May 12th at 11am. Rite of Committal following in Lakeview Cemetery in Thorold. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Crohns and Colitis Society would be appreciated by the family.
