Obituary of Olga "Nikki" Climie

CLIMIE, Olga "Nikki" (nee Nicoloff) It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Mother and Baba on Thursday, April 21, 2016, from colon cancer, with daughter and granddaughter by her side at The Douglas Memorial Hospital, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Richard "Dick" for 55 years. Loving and devoted Mother of the late John and Donna. Cherished Grandmother "Baba" of Joan, Jennifer, Nicole, Richard and Kathryn and Great Grandmother of Olivia and Anna. Nikki will be fondly remembered by her sister Rose and brother in law Oscar Lorentz and sister Mary Wilson. Predeceased by her brother Boris "Bert" Nicoloff and her sister Anne. Aunt to Mark, David, Paul, Allan and Tony. As a young competitive bridge player in her hometown Kitchener she met her love of her life and future husband Dick, together they raised a loving family, and were successful business partners owning Niagara Drugs Pharmacy. She kept active through curling and was a wonderful gardener, paying much attention to her roses. With an innate expertise in finance which afforded her the ability to enjoy her true passion of the arts, attending gallery exhibitions, music concerts, ballet performances and plays. Her knowledge of history, politics and current events (news junkie) allowed her to become a fierce debater and anyone who challenged her had to beware of their words. The family would like to thank Dr. K. E. Scher and nursing staff, at the Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie, for all their care and compassion. Nikki's family will receive guests at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 12- 2 p.m. A Burial will take place after the visitation at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, Queenston St. Memorial donations can be made to the United Way of St. Catharines.
