Obituary of Bernice Dann

DANN, BERNICE VIOLA (née Montague) of Port Dalhousie February 27, 1932 – April 12, 2016 Our sweet, gentle wife and mother passed away unexpectedly April 12 surrounded by her loving family. Beautiful, cherished, and adored wife of Bill (Rock) Dann for almost 66 years (April 22). Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Lance Dann & Rebecca Lok, Bernice & Larry Phelan, Lynette & Rhys Jenkins, Shari & Bob Bannon, Michele & Greg Craig, Jill & Tom Howard, Lisa & Gary Craig, and Deanna Dann. Treasured Nana of Adam Dann & Sasha Clifton, Bryce & JingJing Dann, Ryan & Tammy Jones, Brandon, Alicia and Patrice Jones, Krista & Scott White, Rhys & Jessica Jenkins, Dane Pucher, Jessica & Matt O’Connor, Ciara, Colten and Kiersten Craig, and 16 great grandchildren with another on the way in May. Sister of Msgr. Raymond Montague, Pauline & Charlie Galambos, Joey & Marlene Montague, Lorraine & John Sciamonte, Mike & Linda Montague, Debbie & Dave Hubbard. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph & Marguerite Montague, and her sister, Catherine Doody. Mom and Dad lived a life that most only dream of—filled with worldly travel (Europe 34 times, Cancun, Mexico 44 times, Canada, and USA). They were a devoted, active couple and enjoyed golf, squash, sailing, theatre, art, museums, and more. A sincere, heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone for their outpouring of love and kindness. We would also like to acknowledge the continued support of Catherine & Randy Garrett and our cousin, Dr. Rhonda Collins, as well as Trina (ER Nurse) for her compassion and care in Mom’s final hours. Dad has chosen to honour Mom with a Memorial Mass at Star of the Sea Church in Port Dalhousie on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Niagara.
