Obituary of Manuel Dela Cruz

DELA CRUZ, Manuel Peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Manuel passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at the age of 79. Beloved husband for 55 years to Natalia M. Dela Cruz. Loving father of 7 children, 23 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Manuel adored his grandchildren and his family. He will be remembered for his special smile and for always giving his two thumbs up! "Rest in peace our Superman hero". A special thank you to the doctors; especially Dr. Buetow, nurses and staff at the NHS- St. Catharines Site and to Care Partners for all of their care and support. On behalf of the family, we would like to thank all of our friends for extending their support and for being there for our family. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Tuesday, April 5, from 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 169 St. Paul Cres. on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow the Mass. In accordance with Manuel's wishes, he will be brought back home to the Philippines, at a later date.
