Obituary of Frederick George Blackley

BLACKLEY, Frederick George Passed away suddenly and peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in his 78th year. Predeceased by his beloved and cherished wife Eleanor (2008). He will always be adored and loved by his children Kim (Wayne) Kallies, Kelly (Vic) Klassen and Ken (Kim) Blackley. Proudest Papa of Kevin (Michaella) Kallies, Jeffrey (Lindsay) Kallies, Michelle Kallies, Nicole Klassen, Mandy (Colin) Peters, Evan, Olivia and Samantha Blackley. Proud Great-Papa to Ryder and Avery Kallies and Riley and Owen Black. Fred will be sadly missed by his sister Sharron (Chris) Turner, sister in law Nancy (Ron) Handrahan and brother in law Dennis (the late Louise) Williamson. Fred was a founding partner in Gen Pack Assembly Services Inc. of Stoney Creek, a business that he ran with his wife and son, and was the friendly face that greeted you at Glover Golf Driving Range. Fred loved, and was loved, by his family and was so proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Blackley's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, March 24th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A service to celebrate Fred's life will be held on Saturday, March 26th at St. Columba Anglican Church, 7 St. Columba Drive at 10am. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rankin Cancer Run, a cause that held a special place in Fred's heart.
