Obituary of Joyce Eva Edge

EDGE, Joyce Eva (nee Smith) Surrounded by her whole family, Joyce peacefully passed away after a brief illness, on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in her 82nd year. Beloved mother of Freeman Martin (Terri) McKinnon, Lynn (Enrico) Catalano, Cathleen Mitchell (Jim Rae), Susan McKinnon, Glen (Kelly) McCutcheon, Stephen (Gwen) McCutcheon, Patricia LaBelle and step-mother of Dawn Toth. Grandma will be sadly missed by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as her many nieces and nephews. Dear sister of David (Julie) Smith. Joyce will be fondly remembered by her friends from Canadian National Railways as well as her many neighbours. Joyce was predeceased by her dearly loved husband, John Edge and by her siblings; Cleve Newman, Lloyd Smith, Leo Smith, Joan Coughlin and Jan McManus. A special thank you to her family and friends for being there to care and support Joyce; as Joyce would say "There is such a difference between being alone and being lonely. I was never lonely." -JE Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 11-12 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 12 p.m. (following visitation). Cremation to follow the ceremony. A private interment will take place at a later date, at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. In memory of Joyce, donations made to your favourite charity would be appreciated, as she generously donated to many charities herself.
