Obituary of Donald "Don" Darroch

DARROCH, Donald The Lord God Almighty called Don home in his 81st year at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Hospice Niagara. Don will be greatly missed by Martha, his loving wife of 58 years and children Catherine (Glenn) Holder, Wendy (Gary) Kuenzel, and Steven (Romana). He and Martha were blessed with eight grandchildren Jessica (Adam), Joel (Sarah), Nathan (Amy), Justin (Sofia), Natasha, Lucas, Christopher, Elizabeth and five great grandchildren Anya, Sawyer, Travis, Avalyn and Cora. Don is also survived by his siblings Ruth (Romeo) Caza, Robert (Nicole), sisters-in-law Theresa Farkas, Sara Buller and many nieces and nephews. He was a dedicated mathematics teacher and department head for 28 years at Stamford Collegiate in Niagara Falls. Don was a long time active member of Grace Lutheran Church serving his Lord in many capacities. Don's family will receive guests at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines, on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at Grace Lutheran Church, 213 Linwell Rd., St. Catharines, on Wednesday February 24, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place following the service at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery, Niagara-on-the-Lake. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Lutheran Church or Hospice Niagara.
