Obituary of Audrey Fern Alexander
MUIR ALEXANDER, Audrey Fern (nee Booker)
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother on February 12, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Loving Mom to Maureen (Randy) Howes, Ken (Laura) Muir, Jim (Claudette) Muir and Cathy Muir. Cherished Gran to the late Michael Vanderwyk Howes, Courtney (Jon) Hughes, Jennifer (Alex) Mussell, Kristie (Eric) Mussell, Zach (Rachael) Muir and Keegan (Katie) Muir. Adored by her Great Grandchildren Aidyn, Michaela, Kayleigh, Sean, Addison, William, Elizabeth, Benjamin and Logan. Fern will be remembered by her big brother Clifford (the late Louise) Booker and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Lovingly remembered by Twyla Muir. Predeceased by her loving siblings Sydney Booker, Beatrice Cosby and Edith Hare.
Mom was a proud member of the St. Julia’s Church and the CWL. Mom’s faith was very strong. Fern is a loyal Blue Jays fan, loved playing cards and really enjoyed playing Sunday night Kiwanis T.V. Bingo. Mom loved her family and so enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Even greater was the enjoyment she got watching her great grandchildren grow.
A special thank you to the CCAC, Paramed, CBI and St. Elizabeths for helping to keep Mom at home with us. To the nurses P.S.W.’s thank you for your kindness and your compassion. To Stacy at CCAC – Thank you, you were so kind and so wonderful. Finally a very special thank you to Dr. Bryan Leibfried who went above and beyond to help keep mom at home. There are no words that could ever express how much you have meant to us, no thank you will ever convey our gratitude. Mom will be missed so much, but she will live on though her family and especially her great grandchildren whom she adored.
Fern’s family will receive guests at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Julia Roman Catholic Church, 251 Glenridge Ave. St., Catharines, on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow the Mass. Memorial donations made out to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in Fern’s memory would be greatly appreciated.
When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. We love you Mom, soar with the angels.
