Obituary of Gary Alfred Gribble

Gribble, Gary Alfred - Peacefully in the presence of his loving family on January 18, 2016 at Tabor Manor at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband to Gloria (nee Williams) for almost 54 years. Cherished father of Gail (Fred) Heikoop and daughter-in-law Iris. Dear Papa of Jocelyn (Alex) Large, Alyssa, Daniel Heikoop, Devon and many loving family members. Predeceased by his devoted son Greg (July 2015). Gary worked most of his life in the shipping industry and finished his career with Algoma Central Marine. During his retirement years Gary volunteered at the Salvation Army with the Christmas Kettles; was an avid golfer and curler, and enjoyed to travel, especially to Florida. He was a member of the Kinsmen Club for many years. The family would like to extend their many thanks to the staff at Tabor Manor (Fourth Floor) and Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital for the care and compassion towards Gary. Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, on Friday January 22, 2016 between 2-4 and 7-9pm. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday January 23, 2016 in the funeral home chapel at 1 pm. Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army (St. Catharines) in Gary's honour.
