Obituary of Jean Patterson

PATTERSON, Jean (nee D'Amico) Passed away peacefully at the Woolcott Complex Care Wing in Welland on Sunday, January 3rd after a lengthy illness. Jean is predeceased by her son Jimmy and husband Tom; her brothers Joe, Tony, Donnie and sisters Grace, Fil, Mary, Lil and Corrine. She is survived by her children Tommy (Vivianne), Nancy (Doug) Simpson and Joey (Melanie). Nana will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: dearest Danielle, Jim, Mike, Michael and Carley. Her surviving siblings: Mike (Norma), Frank (Marilyn), Pauline (Jack) and Rose, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews will grieve her passing. Jean was a member of the Catholic Womens League for over 60 years at St. Denis and St. Alfred's Parishes; participating in many events from seasonal events and fundraisers, to church socials and bazaars. She was a golfer and Blue Jays fan and always looked forward to spending time with her family on any occasion, especially Christmas. Jean will be missed by her many friends at Jubilee Place. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at the Woolcott Wing, for the time, attention and care afforded Jean, during her illness. Jean's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, January 7th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, January 8th at St. Denis Catholic Church, 230 Lake Street at 10am. Rite of Committal following in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Thursday at 7pm. If desired, memorial donations to the Woolcott Complex Care Wing or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
