Obituary of Ida Phelan

PHELAN, Ida (nee Neuman) - Passed away peacefully, on Thursday, December 24th at Douglas Memorial Hospital Palliative Care at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Edward (1987). Cherished mother of Colleen (Tony) Martin, Garry, Edward and Chris (Cathy). Loving Grandma of 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Ida is survived by her sisters Ella (Doug) Dakin, Eva (Ken) Gustafson, Anne Klein and Liz Glaicar. A sincere thank you to all the staff at Willoughby Manor in Chippawa, for all their care and compassion towards Mom over the past five and a half years. Thank you also to the CCAC palliative care team and Dr. Scher and his team. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Tuesday, December 29th from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place on Tuesday at 3p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Alexandria, 3 Lyman Street, St. Catharines on Wednesday, December 30th at 10:30a.m. Rite of Committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. Memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
