Obituary of William "Bill" Verbraeken

VERBRAEKEN, William "Bill" It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the loss of a great man. He left us too soon just shy of his 78th birthday on Monday, December 14, 2015 after a brief battle. Best friend and loving husband of 53 years to Sophia. Amazing father to Ron (Carrie), Brigitta (Dave), Sylvia (Mike) and Wernher (Josephine). Proud Opa to Sean (Amber), Nicole (Jason), Danielle (Juan), Rachel, Adam, Jacob, Katerina and Nathan. Great Grandpa to Cheyleigh, Sophia, Harper and Baby V. He will be dearly missed by his large family and many friends in both the Netherlands and Canada. We will miss his handiness and willingness to help anyone, anytime, as well as his ready laugh and joking nature. May he rest in peace, until we meet again. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Catharines General for their excellent care. In accordance with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive guests at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Saturday, December 19, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. Memorial donations made to Hospice Niagara would be greatly appreciated by the family.
