Obituary of Ron Weldon

WELDON, Ronald "Ron" Peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, Ron passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at the age of 73. Beloved husband for 33 years of Christine. Loving father of Ronda (Mark), Lisa (Teto), Eric (Stacey) and Jason (Jasmin). Cherished Papa of Stephanie, Mitchell, Paris, Dominic, Damian and Lucas. Proud Great-Papa of Dereon and Christian. Ron will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Winnifred. Ron worked for the St. Catharines Transit for 34 years, where he made many friends. Ron resided in Port Dalhousie for most of his life. He was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 350 and he also dedicated his time as a volunteer firefighter in Port Dalhousie. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the CCU at the St. Catharines Hospital for their compassionate care and help. Visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Monday, December 14, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Ron's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation to follow the ceremony. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be given to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Kidney Foundation.
