Obituary of Antonietta Leone

Leone, Antonietta Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at the age of 86. Antonietta has been reunited with her beloved husband of 57 years, Giovanni (2006). Loving mother of Maria (Mario) Cardillo and Ludovico "Len" (Josephine). Cherished Nonna of Frank Cardillo, John Cardillo, Elizabeth (Bryn) Keyes (nee Cardillo), Daniel (Tricia) and Alaina Leone (Paulo Franco). Loving great- grandma to Dario, Ethan, Matthew, Evan, Ryan, Michael and Matthew. Antonietta will be missed by her sisters Maria and Lucy, of New York. Predeceased by her parents Enrico and Olimpia Evangelista, her brother Benedetto and by her sisters Anna, Giuseppina and Rosina of Italy. Antonietta was an honest, hard-working, kind and generous woman who loved her family very much. She was very proud of her great-grandchildren, they always made her smile. She will be forever remembered for her passion for cooking. Antonietta also enjoyed working in her garden and loved her flowers. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital and Henley House for their care and compassion. The family will receive family and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Friday, October 30, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment to follow the service, at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations may be made to the Hotel Dieu - Shaver Hospital Fund in Antonietta's honour.
