Obituary of Beverly Royal Croft
CROFT, B. R. (Beverly)
1921-2015
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father on October 6th at the St. Catharines General Hospital.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Marion (nee Eyre), his son Joe (Beverly), nephew Christopher (Welling) and sister Betty (Fox). Bev will be sadly missed by his sister Joyce (Welling) of Toronto. Lovingly remembered by his daughters Mary (Hamilton), Cherie (Catena) and Cindy (Chaytor). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Melissa, Don, Tracey and Cassandra, his Great grandchildren Samantha and Alyssa and his great great grandchildren. He will be missed by his friends, especially his dear friend Mr. Fryer for those long conversations.
Bev served in WW II with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Later being the first motorcycle Policeman in Brockville Ontario, he went on to become a Pilot. Later in his career he worked in Law Enforcement/Security and with the Commissionaires.
He was an active loyal member and very involved with the Shriners and Mason's for many years. Running in marathons and parachuting out of planes well into his seventies, he also enjoyed cycling, skiing and loved his golf. His favourite poem - "The Cremation of Sam McGee" by Robert W Service.
Our father had an adventurous life and always swore he would live to be 100. On October 20, 2015, he would have turned 94.
Our father's wishes were for a private family service. Cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines.
We will greatly miss you, as you are on your new adventure.
Love forever and always.
Cremation
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
