Obituary of Josef Viscek

VISCEK, Josef Sr. "Joe" It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Joe Viscek Sr. on October 6th, 2015 at the age of 88. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Mary for 57 years, loving father of Joe Jr. and Frank (Denise). Cherished Stari Ata to Stefanie, Joe, Michael, Nicole and Vanessa. He is survived by his sister Maria and brother Polde of Slovenia. Joe will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Mary, nephew Lado (Linda), niece Kathy, great nieces Jennifer and Charlene, and great nephew John. Predeceased by his parents and brothers Frank and Dolf -all of Slovenia, and brother Lado Sr. of St. Catharines. A proud Slovenian, retired General Motors employee and passionate grape grower. He was a devoted family man who will forever be missed. Joe's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, October 9th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Saturday, October 10th at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 169 St. Paul Crescent at 10am. Rite of Committal following in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Friday at 3:45pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the St. Catharines General Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
