Obituary of Shirley Irene Penner

PENNER, Shirley Irene Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Thursday, September 17th at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 79. Predeceased by her husband Jacob Penner (2006), son Rick (2006) and sister Joan Rustin (2015). Much loved mother of Gary (Gail) Mallory, Tim (Charles) Mallory, Debbie (Dave) McCabe, Fred Penner, and Jacob Martin Penner. Loving grandmother of Mark, Jamie, Jennifer, Jonathan, Bradley, Amber, Jade, Felicia, Katie, Sarah, Georgia, Jordyn, Junelle, Greg and Bradley. Cherished great grandmother of Carter, Caeden, Oliver and Emme, and devoted great great grandmother of Paige.She will also be missed by her brother Fred (Darlene) Murray and her many nieces, nephews and friends. Shirley's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Sunday, September 20th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, September 21st at 11:30 am in the funeral home chapel. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

There will be a reception following the funeral in the Kristen French Fellowship Hall located in the lower level of the funeral home. There is an elevator available if required.
