Obituary of R. Kenneth Yeo

YEO, R. KENNETH It is with great sadness, that the family announces Ken’s sudden passing at home on Saturday, September 12, 2015. Born July 21, 1925, Ken is survived by Helen, his loving wife of 64 years, his three sons Ross (Marilyn), Bob (Cheryl), Gord (Joanne) and their families, including multiple grandchildren. Ken was employed at the St. Catharines Standard for 48 years, which was where he met the love of his life. He loved fishing and was an avid (if somewhat erratic) golfer, a passion shared by his wife and kids, with Ken & Helen being long time members of the Twenty Valley Golf Club. Ken was actively involved with rowing, first as a winning oarsman at Henley, then as a lifetime member/director/past president of the St. Catharines Rowing Alumni. Again, this was something he shared with his family, whose sons all rowed and are also members of the SCRA, with his wife Helen being a long time member of the Henley Island Helpers. Finally, Ken was a dedicated Mason & past Master (33rd degree) in the Order of the Scottish Rite. Above all else he was simply a loving father & husband and will be sorely missed by all. There will be a visitation for friends & acquaintances at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Friday, September 18, from 6-8 p.m. A celebration of Ken's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. with an hour visitation held prior to the ceremony (10:30-11:30 a.m.). Donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
