Marty knew John from the clothing business, and we often saw him more recently on the dock. He was always a gentle, helpful man, who did so much to help his community, and was a pleasure to know. Janet, our thoughts are with you now.

Janet and Family, we are terribly sorry for your loss.
Kerry and I knew John through real-estate dealings and later I had the opportunity to see the real John Snowling at the Rotary Club of St. Catharines. John was a very special man, hard working yet always considerate of others. I can't remember John without a smile on his face which in itself could be very infectious.
Everyone liked John and he will be missed as he already is. His early passing has left a hole in the fabric of life.

We are so sorry to hear about John's passing. He is gone too early and will be missed by his family and friends. As a cousin I remember spending summers with him in our younger days how much I enjoyed being there with him and his family. Those were good memories which I will never forget. Rest in peace John.

John's passing is a shock to family and friends. While we saw little of John and Janet, when we did get together, for family functions, there was no lack of good humour and remembering of old times while growing up. Our families were very close as our mothers were very close sisters. I do cherish those memories. Our very sincere condolences go out to Janet and Lesley at this very sad time.

We meet many unique people as we pass thru this life.
Few of us realize our impact on those we meet along the way. Some realize that we are all part of the same spiritual entity and create great memories with those we meet, others just pass thru.
John realized he could make a difference with every one he met, and so he enriched his worldly transit with warmth and compassion. I think he felt that he knew them before he was born, and was at peace that he would know them again after death.
Rest my friend, your memory will live in me until we meet again.

I knew John from working in the downtown core in the 70's. There wasn't one business downtown who didn't know who he was. He walked the city streets with an illuminating smile on his face while greeting everyone he met. If he did stop talk with you, he made you feel like you were a long time friend. John touched many people in St. Catharine's. He will be sadly missed by those hearts that he touched.

John's sudden passing is most certainly a very great loss to his family, friends, and his community-at-large. John and I have known each other for 66 years! We are cousins. However we were raised as brothers; our fathers were boyhood friends in England and they married sisters who were also very close - together they emigrated to Canada for a new life after the war. The two families were inseparable, spending most holidays together and regularly shared Sunday dinners. During our teenage years, John and I and our girl friends often "double dated" and later we were in each others' wedding parties. Our wives and children became close friends. As our adult lives moved forward on new pathways in different cities, we did not see each other as much as we both would have liked; but we always knew the other was just a phone call or email away should one need the help or support of the other. Elaine and I do wish we could have spent more time together with John and Janet, and Lesley but we cherish the rich memories of a unique bond. Within and after the shock of John's departure, we will be sustained by the happy memories of a great man with a robust sense of humour and a kind heart!

John will be greatly missed. He was a very good friend to Fred and me over many years. Fred often talked of his hot air balloon ride with John in France. We enjoyed many a Sunday dinner with John, Frieda and Lesley on Glen Ridge Avenue. John was instrumental in helping us purchase our ski chalet property in Ellicottville in 1994 where many good memories were made both on the ski hill and 'apres'! Every time I wipe off a glass tabletop with Windex I think of John - a true 'virgo'! Everything he did he was fully committed to. His spirit will truly live on in those who knew him! My sincere condolences to Lesley, Janet, Susan and George.

I was very saddened to hear John has passed away. I first met John when I stared in real estate working for Rusy Kruty. John taught me a lot about the business and always wanted me to succeed. We became close. We would meet for breakfast in the mornings and go for lunches. We would go skiing at Holiday Valley and take bike rides through trails. We even spent time at his home during Christmas. He would introduce me to many people. I was amazed how many people knew John. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. He was a generous kindhearted human being- I will always cherish the memories I had with him. He will be missed by many. Condolences to his family

John was my first teacher in real estate and helped me transition into a new career. I could not have asked for a better educator, or a better person to do so. He supported me even after I was licensed by attending my realtor launch event, and it was always a pleasure to chat with him on the phone afterwards and talk a little shop.
I wish now I'd taken up John's offer to go out on his boat. My condolences to Janet and his family. Such a great loss.

I will miss my friend John at the Niagara Association of REALTORS board meetings. He and I went to many meetings and conferences together, as we shared membership on the Government Relations Committee as well. Friendly, knowledgable, and sincere, he was always ready to help, or share a laugh. We will miss you, John!
