Obituary of Anne Marie Dewar

DEWAR, Anne Marie Anne passed away on Saturday, July 11 at the age of 82. Survived by her loving husband of 61 years John, and her children Gregory (Jennifer), Jane, Anmarie (Paul), and John (Doreena) and her grandchildren Matthew, Gillian (Caleb), Aleigha, Taylor (Megan), Danny, Kristen (Karl), Spencer, Annie, Jack, Danielle and Matthew; sister Ingrid (Harry), brother Garry (Cathy), sister-in-law Donna, and many special nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Barry, sisters-in-law Carolyn and Jayne, and brother-in-law John. Anne will be missed by her dear friends. She was a lifetime member of the Maycourt Club and volunteered for many years at the Niagara Children’s Centre. She loved her bridge clubs and to travel, read, garden, and cross-stitch. She enjoyed curling, Three Mile Lake and her Blue Jays. Most of all she had a passion for her grandchildren. Special thanks to Mike and the nurses at St. Elizabeth and the nurses and staff at Hospice Niagara for their compassionate care of Anne during her long illness, and to Marg and Doug for always being there. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Wednesday, July 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Anne's life will be held on Thursday, July 16 at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara.
