Obituary of Rocco Paternostro

PATERNOSTRO, Rocco Rocco Michele Paternostro of N-O-T-L, in his 77th year passed peacefully with family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Rosa Maria. Loving father of Ben, Rosaria (Brad) Bakalar, Joe and John (Ivana). Survived by grandsons Alessandro, Tristan and step grandsons Andrew and Jake. Predeceased by parents Pasquale and Rosaria, brother Angelo and sister Gerardina (Pasquale) DiGiorgio. Survived by nieces and nephews across New Jersey, USA: Maria (Carlo) Maramonte, Vinny (Diane) DiGiorgio and Mario (Maria) DiGiorgio; across Germany: Pasquale (Barbara) Paternostro and Catarina (Antonio) DiMaggio and across Italy: Rosaria (Frank) Serpe and Gerardo Paternostro. Also survived by his sister-in-law Antonietta and many cousins. Rocco's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St, St. Catharines on Friday, February 27th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, February 28th from 10-12 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Rocco's life will follow on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 93 Moffatt St, St. Catharines. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow the service. If desired, donations in memory of Rocco may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – MDS. The family would like to give a special thanks to the kind staff at Shoppers, CCAC, CBI, St. Elizabeth and Paramed who all helped in assisting Rocco in his last difficult months.
