Obituary of Ron Thompson

THOMPSON, Ronald "Ron" It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ron, on Sunday, February, 8, 2015 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at the age of 66. Forever loved and remembered by his daughter, Joanne and her husband Douglas Sloper. Proud Grandad of Heather, Richard and Daniel. Ron will be missed by Carol, Roger and Matt Sloper, extended family, friends, especially by Phil and Sandra Waterhouse and their children Brianne and Pamela. Born in England, Ron came to Canada in 2008. He lived with his daughter and family in St. Catharines. Ron was happily employed at Corporate Chemicals and will be fondly remembered by his teammates at work. Throughout life, Ron enjoyed playing pool, observing classic cars (at the car show), but more importantly being home, relaxing, watching TV with a bowl of sweets and crisps. A special thank you to all the staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital for their help and support. Visitation for Ron will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with a prayer service taking place at 4 p.m. Cremation to follow, after the visitation and Ron will return home, where Joanne will look after him. As an expression of sympathy, donations given to Sick Children's Hospital would be appreciated by Ron's family. "Dad, my heart is broken from losing you too soon, but I will cherish every memory and moment we have spent together. Thank you for always being there for us. I love you Dad with all my heart. Until we meet again, your ever loving daughter, Joanne."
