Obituary of Josef Reiter

REITER, Joseph Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Monday, January 26th at Henley House at the age of 82. Loving husband of 55 years of Gaetane and cherished father of Joanne and Daniel (Linda). Special papi of Ronnie Kowalczyk, Alyssa Gillies, David and Matthew Reiter, and great papi of Bentley. He will be missed by his brother August (Teresa) Reiter, nephew John (Linda) Reiter and niece Teresa (Peter) Allison-all of whom were able to be at Joe's bedside as he passed away. Also survived by his brother in law Richard (Audrey) Desabrais, sisters in law Gisele (Florent) Houde and Lorraine (Ghislain) Cantin and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents John and Anna, 2 brothers, 2 half sisters from Yugoslavia and in laws Guy and Simonne Desabrais. Joe loved gardening and took exceptional pride in growing his tomatoes. Joseph's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Friday, January 30th between 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers for Joe will be recited in the funeral home on Friday at 8pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31st at Paroisse Immaculee Conception, 99 Garnet Street, St. Catharines at 11am. Cremation will follow the service. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
