Obituary of Betty Bartelds

BARTELDS, Betty (nee van der Weide) Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Shalom Manor on Friday, January 16th, 2015 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Willem (2010). Cherished mother to Roni (Dan) Rancourt of Niagara Falls, Bill (Sharon), Yvonne (Jamie) Friesen of Niagara-on-the-Lake and Cindy (Mark) Davidson. Loving Oma to Jeff (Denise), Katie (Jeremy), Brandon (Katie), Stewart (Jessica), Tyler (Rose), Heather (James) and Shauna. Beloved great Oma of Hudson, Ethan, Owen, Lily, Isabelle, Jade and Rijker. Dear sister of Spike (Donalda), Gay (the late Cor), Gerrit (Sandy) and Renie (Robert). Betty will also be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Patty (1969). Betty worked as a custodian for the Lincoln County School Board for 25 years. She enjoyed spending her time knitting, crafting, travelling and bowling. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Monday, January 26th from 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Betty's life will take place on Tuesday, January 27th at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Shalom Manor or the Alzheimer Society.
