Obituary of Sarah McLeod

MCLEOD, Sarah Peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Sarah passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 in her home at the age of 77. Beloved wife of 58 years to George. Loving mother of Linda (Stan) Sullivan and Carol McLeod-Legassick (Graeme Harris). Cherished Gran of Kyle (Jill), Nicole, Reece (Katie), Chase and Alexa (Dylan) and Great-Gran of Brooklyn and Peyton. Dear sister of Christine, William (Ruth), Clive (Marie), Alex, Charles (Jan), and sister-in-law of Moira. Predeceased by her infant daughter, Elaine and by her brother-in-law Lionel. Sarah will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Born in Scotland, Sarah, George and girls came to Canada in 1975. In recent years, Sarah and George moved to St. Catharines to be closer to their family. Sarah's greatest moments, were spending time with her family. Despite her recent health condition, Sarah was able to participate and enjoyed lawn bowling. She was a member of the Niagara-on-the-Lake Indoor Bowling Club. A special thank you to Dr. M. Torigian, Dr. Yalamanchili, the staff of the St. Catharines General Hospital- 3B palliative care unit, the staff at Juravinski Cancer Centre and Sarah's support workers through C.C.A.C. for all of their care and support. In accordance with Sarah's wishes cremation has taken place. Sarah's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations given to Community Care Access Centre- Niagara (C.C.A.C.) would be appreciated by Sarah's family.
