Obituary of Marian Cybula

Cybula, Marian - Passed away on Tuesday January 13, 2015 at the Welland County Hospital in his 91st year. Loving husband of Yolanda (nee D'Amico) for 57 years. Devoted dad to Thomas (Elaine). Proud Dziadek to Krysta (Michael) Cournoyea, Kevin Paolozzi and Alexandra. He recently welcomed his great-grandson Nicholas Cournoyea. Survived by his sisters Marianne (Anthony) Welgan, Helena (Douglas) Barnes, Irena (Tadeusz), Wanda, brother Stanislaw (Stanislawa) and many family members. Predeceased by his daughter-in-law Connie, sister Teodora and brothers Zigmunt (Sabina), and Edward. After enduring the hardships of WWII, Marian immigrated to Canada arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax in 1949. His new life included over thirty years of service with General Motors. He was a member of the Canadian-Polish Society of St. Catharines. Special thanks to Welland Retirement Suites, NHS Welland Site - Emergency and 6th Floor staff. Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Thursday between 4-7pm. A graveside burial will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery on Friday at 10am. Please meet at the funeral home on Friday at 9:45am. Memorial donations may be made to Charity of One's Choice in Marian's honour.
