I am a member of the Links band. I played clarinet sitting next to Ralph during 67 to 74 & 77 to 91. We got along great. I wish I could be there today but have to work. God bless you Rose & all the rest of the family

I remember the time Ralph played Santa Claus for my nieces, Sydney (his granddaughter) and Erin, on Christmas Eve. They were so excited! Occasionally, when my sister, Jackie, and I would go to the Henley Hotel, Ralph would sometimes be there and always in a suit. He would buy us both a beer and entertain us with some great story or another. Our father, Hugh, who knew Ralph for the better part of his life,, often mentioned the Shishka-Dog that Markarian's Drive-In made. Dad said they were out-of-this-world tasty and he missed being able to enjoy them. From a passed down family pilaf recipe to dancing the snake dance at the Armenian picnics Ralph had a big personality and will be missed by all who knew him. Many condolences to Rose and the Markarian family.

My deepest sympathies to the Markarian family on the loss of Mr. Ralph Markarian. I remember my memories from visiting Ontario St. as a little girl and that is where I became a pizza snob so to speak and over the years have always compared my memories of pizza to yours. It was perfect.
The pizza was so good and I always remember Mr. and Mrs. Markarian were so generous and kind especially to us children.
We were even given the wonderful recipe for the best pizza ever by you and enjoyed it even after the restaurant closed.
Thank you for the wonderful memories!
Kathy

My sincere sympathies to Larry, Lori, Kim and Family,
I have great memories of Mr Markarian starting with seeing him playing in the band at the Armenian club on Carlton street. Also when he and Larry would bring their snow mobiles to Meadowvale school for all the kids to enjoy a ride at Winter Carnival time. Always a warm smile.
Blessings,
Tracey

I've known you since I was a little girl watching you in the L&W band with my dad and eventually as my father-in-law. There was always a warm smile, a big hug and a kiss on Sydney's and my visits. Laughter was never foreign when you were in the room. The way you would entertain the kids at family gatherings with your handkerchief mouse was classic and they were always a captive audience. There are so many memories I cherish and hold dear. You made life interesting and I am richer for it, Ralph! You had a welcoming and genuine heart and I will miss you! Much love and strength to Rose and the Markarian family at this difficult time! xo

It was nearly 50 years ago that I mustered up the courage to ask Ralph to hire me as a "bus kid"at Markarians Steakhouse. I loved working there and after some time I asked him for a raise. I was making 80 cents an hour, but up the street the bus kids were making 85 cents. Ralph gave me the raise and told me to keep it hush! One year, my sister won the Grape Queen contest. Ralph asked me if that was me who won. I said no, I wouldn't have entered that contest. He said he wished he'd known, he would have entered me in the contest as "Miss Steak" (or Mistake)!!! It always made me laugh thinking about how witty he was. His sense of humour was the best! Everyone who knew him will miss him, or remember him with fondness. Rest in peace Ralph... Mariette..your favorite Busgirl! Xo
