Obituary of Robert Minot Corbett

CORBETT, Robert Minot Dad passed away peacefully at Pioneer Elder Care on October 30, 2014 at the age of 91. He will now be reunited with the love of his life, Beverly. Dearest Dad of Robert (Darlene), Linda (John) Uronick, Bill (Donna) Irene (Ken), Ken (Donna), and Joanne (Bob) Heritz. He was the treasured Grandpa of Kara (Joe), Laura, Mike (Ashley), Christine (James), Jennifer, Hilary (Ryan), Ken, Margaret, Rick and Jamie. Great Grandpa Robert to Lucas, Aaron, Aby, Keenan, Evan and Dane. Predeceased by his dear son James (1994). Dear brother of Elizabeth Corbett, Nancy Moreau and Hester (Don) O'Brien. Dad proudly served Canada as a Flight Instructor with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. He graduated as a Chartered Accountant in 1960 and retired as the City Administrator from the City of Thorold. He was a member of the St. Catharines Twinning Association, Royal Canadian Legion, the Oddfellows and he volunteered for many years at the Hotel Dieu/Shaver Hospital . The family cannot adequately express our thanks to the wonderful staff at Pioneer Elder Care for the love, care and respect Dad received during his stay with them. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service in celebration of Robert's life will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Saturday, November 15th at 12 noon with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Hospice Niagara.
