Obituary of Mona Rose Schmidt

SCHIMIDT, Mona Rose- Passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, October 29th at Hospice Niagara at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Herbert Ralph Schmidt. Cherished mother of Debra (Peter) Berg, Sandra Pickering and Robin (Michael) Moran. Loving Gramma of Chad (Rhonda), Tina (Jamie), Cherisse (Dan), Melissa (Jeff), Lindsay (Marc), Brooke (Ryan), Deneka (Jeff), Adrienne (Steve) and Sarah. Great Gramma of Nathan, Jordan, Liam, Logan, Sadie, Issac, Hunter, Irelyn, Vivian, Hayden, Brady, Emerson, Ryder, Mason and Avalon. Mona will be sadly missed by her brothers Gordon (the late Betty) Auger and Gene (Rosella) Auger and her sisters Jeanine (Gordon) DePass, Irene ( the late Barry) Carr, Claudette (the late Gordon) Lessard, Yvonne (the late Bob) Sowery and Lynn (John) Kewell. She is predeceased by her sisters Doris (John) Handley, Lillian (the late Paul) Caron and Dinah (the late Edward) Singer. Mona will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and close friends. She was a long time member of St. Mary's Parish and St. Denis Parish. Mona will always be remembered for her love of life and her family. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Hospice Niagara, her in home nursing care and her PSW's through CCAC for all their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday, October 30th (today) from 6p.m.-9p.m. and Friday, October 31st from 10a.m.-11a.m. A Celebration of Mona's Life will follow on Friday at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
