SCHLANGE, Irma
After a short struggle with leukemia, Irma passed away with all her family by her bedside on July 2nd at Hospice Niagara at the age of 76.
Predeceased by her loving husband Gunther. Caring mother to BriGitte (Peter) Chess and Harry (Kathy). Much loved Oma to Belinda (Willy) and Sheri, Eric and Sonja. Great Oma to Emma and Nathalie. Also survived by her sister Bide (Freddie) Siegmund, her brother Eric (Stevie) Spar and her nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed her family and was especially proud to be part of her grandchildren and great grandchildrens' lives. She will be missed by her family in Germany. She enjoyed good food and good times with friends and family. Her house was always open to visitors who came with a healthy appetite. Irma's kindness touched so many people in Niagara, Naples, Florida, and Germany. The family extends sincere thanks to the Oncology Lab Staff, CCAC, Bayshore Nursing, especially Bernie Kolbuc, and the kind staff at Hospice Niagara.
Irma's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Tuesday, July 5th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, July 6th at 11am.
Cremation will follow the service with a private family inurnment at a later date.
If desired, memorial donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
