Obituary of George Hardy

HARDY, George Passed away peacefully on Friday, July 25th, 2014 at the age of 70. Loving husband of 31 years to Erika (nee Tutti). Much loved dad of Janice (Lou) Kertesz, Chris (Andrea) and Alex. Proud grandpa of Sam, Charlotte, Brianna and Taylor. Dear brother of Linda (Tom) Matthews. George will be fondly remembered by his auntie Mary and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his former wife Linda. George was a longtime employee of Burger King, and over the past 11 years he became an owner of the Welland location. He will be missed by his staff and regular customers. He was a lifelong Bluejays fan, enjoyed fishing, and spending time at the cottage in Buckhorn. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, July 31st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of George's life will take place on Friday, August 1st at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Cremation to follow. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
