Obituary of Jim Hatt

HATT, James Daniel Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on April 21, 2014, at the age of 60. Jim is survived by his loving wife of almost 39 years, Jan (nee Greenhalgh); daughter Tammy Lynn Hatt Fisse (Trey), and granddaughters Kaelin Jodi Fisse and Harper Catherine Fisse. He also leaves behind brothers Tim (Teri) and Brian, mother-in-law Georgetta Hastings, in-laws Terry (Christine), Marilyn (Glyn), Larry (Deb), Dave (Gail), Tom (Darlene), Bill (Cathy), Debby, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Jodi Lee Hatt and James and Lillian Hatt. Jim was born in Buffalo, N.Y., grew up in St. Catharines and spent his final years in Metairie, New Orleans. Following a long family tradition, Jim was a stock car driver and won many races driving the car number 01. One of Jim's favourite past times was to grill for his family and friends. Most nights of the week you could find him at his grill, cooking up whatever the crowd asked for. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, July 31st from 6-8 p.m. A celebration of Jim's life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 8 p.m. An inurnment will take place on Friday, August 1st at 1 p.m. at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
