Obituary of Margaret Christina Hartleib

Hartleib, Margaret Christina (nee Colton) - With her love forever in our hearts, in the company of her family, we announce with great sadness mom's peaceful passing at the St. Catharines General Hospital on June 29, 2014 at the age of 94. Predeceased in 1991 by her beloved husband Eugene Charles "Charlie." Loving mother to Leslie (John) Vandenhoff, Bill (Gertie), and Kim (Stan) Munroe. Nana will be greatly missed and always remembered by her grandchildren Tracey (Geoff), Patrick (Emily) and their mother Resa, Jordan (Samantha), Melanie (Sam), Mark and Gertie's sons Ryan, Steve and Damien (Amelia). Cherished GG of Mitchel, Alexa, Brandon and Brady. Survived by her dear sister and best friend Mary (the late Martin) Hopkins. Auntie Margaret will be fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents Caroline and Henry Colton of Hartleib-Hopkins Colton Paint Centre Ltd. Margaret was a loving, generous and gracious lady who devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, travelling, gardening and family celebrations. She loved to relax at her summer home at Sunset Bay on Lake Erie. We have many great memories to cherish. Margaret was a life time member of the Port Dalhousie Yacht Club, past member of the Jordan Skating Club, Hotel Dieu Women's Auxillary and long time member of the CWL at Star of the Sea Church. She had an unwavering faith in the love of God, which was a great source of comfort and support. The family would like to thank the staff at Henley House for their care and compassion for the last few months and also to the staff in the Emergency Department at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Thursday between 6-8pm. A private family Funeral Liturgy without Mass will be held with burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
