Obituary of William Neil Eion Wilson

Wilson, William (Bill) Neil - Passed away peacefully on Thursday June 19, 2014 at his home in the presence of his loving family at the age of 78 years. Beloved spouse of Elizabeth for 18 years. Loving and proud father of Cindy, and Robert (Leslie). Proud Grandpa of Louisa, Giorgia and Reese. Also sadly missed by his Evans family Doug (Jeanette), Greg (Judy) and Alex; and loving and proud Grandpa of Travis, Danielle, Samantha, Juliana and Halley. Survived by his sisters-in-law Marion (Rudy) Hink, Margaret (John) Collins and brother-in-law Mac (Norma) Christie of Scotland. Bill was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. After 2 years sailing yachts around the world he dropped anchor, permanently in Canada in 1963. He retired from Volkswagen Canada in 1995 after 32 years in automobile marketing and advertising. His retirement to St. Catharines supported his passion for Scottish Country Dancing (where Bill and Elizabeth met), watercolour painting and his acoustic guitars. Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Sunday June 22, 2014 at 11am. Cremation has taken place. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Charity of One's Choice in Bill's honour.
