Obituary of Emma Colangeli (nee Somma)

Colangeli, Emma - Surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday May 27, 2014 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 85. Predeceased by her cherished husband of 59 years Giovanni (2010). Beloved mom of Bruno (Kimberley) and Linda (Terry) Howe. Adored Nonna of Jordan, Alycia, and Ryan. Fondly remembered by her sisters Concetta Marrone, Maria, Josephine, brother Rocco, sister-in-law Antoinetta Somma, brother in-law Italo and many family members. Also predeceased by her siblings Raffaela, Antonio, Donato, Aldo, Nicola, Umberto, brother-in-law Fiore and sisters-in-law Gina and Jean. Emma was a proud member of St. Alfred's parish and Club Roma Women's Auxilliary.She had a passion for cooking for her family and gardening. Emma's inspiration and strength will never be forgotten. Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Thursday between 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers will be said in the funeral home on Thursday at 3pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, on Friday at 9:30am with entombment following at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Tender Wishes or Charity of Choice in Emma's honour.
