Obituary of Marjorie MacMillan
MacMillan, Marjorie Davine (nee Bieman)
December 2, 1929 to May 5, 2014
Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital after a courageous and dignified struggle with Parkinson’s. Beloved wife of the late Clifford for 59 years. Loving mother of eight children Christine, Michael (Donna), John (Sabrina), Leanne (Tif), Paula (Stephen), Andy (Nadine), Dan (Moira) and Abbie (Michael). She was a proud Grandma of twelve grandchildren Leigh (Melody), Alisa (Fred), Erin, Moriah, Kaitlin, Jodie, Matthew, Alexandra, Ian, Michael, Cameron, Eilis and great-grandmother to Elaya and Clover. Dear sister of Audry (Ron), Murray (the late Sandra), Marvin (Barb) and sister-in-law of Gail (the late John) O'Reilly and the late Jim and Mary. Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was the focus of her life. She was a cherished friend of many and a neighbour who will be greatly missed. Marjorie's talents as a seamstress benefited children’s charities and she also actively supported many other charities. She was employed at Brock University until her retirement. Marjorie's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Royal Henley, who was kind and generous in their care. In accordance with Marjorie's wishes cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Friday, May 9 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7- 9 p.m. A Memorial Mass will take place at Star of the Sea Church, 34 Elgin St., Port Dalhousie on Saturday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Parkinson Society.
