Obituary of Carol Anne Kittl
KITTL, Carol Anne (nee Sweeney)
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on May 4, 2014 at the age of 72. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 43 years, Nick, in 2008 and has now returned to his loving arms. Carol is the cherished mother of Jim (Lisa), Lara and Julie (Kevin Blundell). Her granddaughter Shaelynne meant the world to her. Carol is predeceased by her parents Larry and Yvonne Sweeney, and Nick's parents Nick and Anna. She leaves behind her sister Judy (Ed) Barszcz, brother Brian (Debbie) Sweeney, brother Jim (Penny) Sweeney and sister Meb (Paul) Smith. In addition, her aunts, Blanche Pigeon, Annette Foley, Rita Birney and Josephine Wilhelm will mourn her loss. She will also be missed by Nick's brother Mike (Margaret), his sister Heidi (Ray) Juodikis and his sister Anna (Bill) Paroschy, in addition to many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two nieces, Tina and Laurie.
Carol was a registered nurse who graduated from St. Joseph's in Hamilton. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League and St. Denis Parish for many years. She loved music and the Montreal Canadiens, but the most important thing in the world to her was her family.
In accordance with Carol's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Thursday, May 8th, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited Thursday evening at 8 p.m in the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy celebrating Carol's life will take place at St. Denis Roman Catholic Church, 230 Lake St. on Friday, May 9th at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family. Many special thanks to the staff at Hospice Niagara, Niagara Gardens and CCAC Niagara for their extraordinary love and care. Heartfelt thanks also to her cousins Nancy and John Byrne who spent countless hours with our mother at hospice to ensure she did not feel alone.
