Obituary of Thomas (Tom) Oulster Harrison

HARRISON, Thomas (Tom)- Passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Hotel Dieu- Shaver Hospital after a courageous battle with brain cancer at the age of 68. He will be forever missed by his wife and best friend Joan of 44 years, his son Joel, daughter Kari and his granddaughters Madison and Chloe. Tom is survived by his sister Frances Cordukes of Ottawa and nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces. Tom has influenced the lives of many of his students through his teaching years and will be greatly missed at the casino where he worked for 15 years after retiring from teaching. Tom, you will be forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace my love. Our heartfelt thanks to the caring staff of CCAC Niagara, Hospice and Palliative care wing at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Tuesday from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. A Celebration of Tom's Life will take place on Wednesday at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Community Care Niagara, the Palliative floor at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital or for Brain Cancer Research.
