Obituary of Roy Leonard Santarelli
SANTARELLI, Roy - with sadness we announce the passing of Roy, while surrounded by his loving family on Monday July 25, 2011 at the age of 77.
Loving husband to Beverley (nee Tracey) for 53 years.
Beloved father to Mark (Bernice), Michael (Angela) and Paul.
Cherished Poppa to Gregory, David, Christopher, Bradley, Matthew, Tracey and Nicholas. Special step-grandfather to Kathryn and Patrick. Roy will also be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews Leah, Erinn, Kevin, Patricia and Peter.
He will be fondly remembered by his brother and sister-in-law Rick and Connie Tracey and his sister Noreen. Predeceased by his parents Theodore and Kathleen.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the family and friends that provided their care and support through the years as well as the nurses and staff at CCAC and Dr.D. Walser-Jebb.
Roy was a teacher with the DSBN from 1967 to 1989. In his retirement he enjoyed travelling, gardening, music, classic movies, entertaining, playing Bridge, the Big 'C' and spending time with family and friends.
Roy's family will receive visitors at THE GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL 585 Carlton St. St.Catharines from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday July 27 also 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday July 28. Vigil prayers will take place in the funeral home on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 169 St. Paul Crescent, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday July 29. Cremation will follow and interment at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Parkinson's Foundation or a charity of your choice will be appreciated by his family.
