Obituary of Christine VanderMeer

VANDERMEER, Christine It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our wonderful wife, mother, daughter, and grandma. After a courageous but all too brief battle with cancer, Christine passed on Monday, April 7th, 2014 in her 64th year. Best friend and loving wife of Cornelis VanderMeer. Cherished mother to Melissa Burke (the late Brian) and Rachel Stuchberry (Paul). Daughter of Fred Filipetto and the late Jane Filipetto. Devoted grandma to Megan, Deryck and Kate. Dear sister of Debbie Barker of Oklahoma. The family would like to thank the incredible ICU medical team at the NHS-St. Catharines Site for their care and dedication. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, April 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Christine's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, April 11th at 11:30 a.m. Memorial donations to Cystic Fibrosis Canada would be appreciated by the family.
