Obituary of Mara Brodie

BRODIE, Mara (nee Brazus) Passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, March 27th, 2014 at Hospice Niagara. Beloved wife of Bryan for 52 years. Loving mom of Alison (Barry) Hildred and Scott. Much loved nana to Abbey, Emma, and Sophie. Dear sister of Karlis Brazus. Mara will also be fondly remembered by her nursing classmates, her vacationing companions, and those she worked with in volunteering. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Juravinski Cancer Centre, the home and palliative care nurses, and Hospice Niagara for their exceptional care. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Monday, March 31st from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Mara's life will take place on Tuesday, April 1st at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
