Obituary of Catharine Holdip
HOLDIP, Catharine (Keenan) (nee Langelaan)
Passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 in her 71st year. Beloved wife of the late Lionel "Sonny" Holdip. Loving mom of Caroline Rigby (Sean), Sharon Keenan, Frank Keenan, James Keenan and Irene Simmons (Bill). Cherished grandma of 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Al Langelaan (Heather), Nick Langelaan, Neil Langelaan (Amy), Harry Langelaan (Darlene), Ed Langelaan (Maureen) and Margaret Graham (Art). Special friend and sister-in-law of Donna Sharp. Catharine will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her sister Wilma Heus, her brother John Langelaan (Cathy), and her parents John and Maria Langelaan.
Catharine was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #350 in Port Dalhousie, and was a longtime employee of Art's Restaurant. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Thomas for her care and compassion.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. A celebration of Catharine's life will be held at on Saturday, March 29th from 1-4 p.m. at the Port Dalhousie Legion, 57 Lakeport Road. Memorial donations to Hospice Niagara would be appreciated.
