Obituary of Antonio Ferrante

FERRANTE, Antonio "Tony" It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Antonio at the age of 83. He died peacefully surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife Nicoletta, of 60 years. Loving father of Angela (Nicola) and Lui (Alba). Cherished Nonno of Nicole (Joe), Anthony, Flavio, Cristina and great grandfather of Reilly. He will also be missed by his sister Paolina and his brother Mario both of Italy. Antonio was predeceased by his parents Luigino and Angiolina, his grandson Anthony Casciano, his brothers Giambattista, Giuseppe, and by his sisters Nicoletta and Lucietta. Antonio came to Canada in 1967 to make a better life for him and his family. He resided in St. Catharines and was a member of St. Alfred's Church. Antonio's family will receive family and friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home at 3 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Roman Catholic Church, 272 Vine St. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 9:30 a.m., followed by entombment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be given to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
