Anne-Marie and family, we were so shocked to hear of Mike's passing. We remember him as a quiet, dignified and respectful person. We remember his many trips moose hunting in our province and how he loved the outdoors. To the Power family also we extend our deepest sympathy. They were a family who always welcomed us when we visited them at their home in Hr. Main. Joe and Rita were so kind as well as all the family. We will remember you all in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless and console you in the days to come.
Regards

When I met Mike a couple years ago George (georgie) was with me. He looked at george and said so this is the girl you're head over heels for. I'm pretty sure George blushed and it made me laugh. I had the pleasure of seeing him a few more times when he came to newfoundland to visit. I wish I could have got the chance to know him better. I hope his family and friends find support and strength within each other during this very difficult time

Anne Marie and family, we are all still very much in shock. Uncle Mike was an amazing man. He reminded me so much of my dad. I have many great memories of him and I am so glad I was able to see him in December when he was here. He was a fantastic man and I am honoured he was my god father. You are all in our prayers.

Aunt Anne-Marie,
My heart is breaking for you, Aunt Rose and Aunt Rene.I cherish the two weeks I spent with you and Uncle Mike in August of 2012.It was one month before my own father (Clarence) passed away. Uncle Mikes hug was a great comfort to me then.Uncle Mike was a strong quiet man who was very generous and welcoming.During my visit, I came to know Uncle Mike as a cultured man with similar interests as I have such as Music & Theatre. When we sent to Niagara Falls, he made sure I went to the theatre to watch the history of Niagara Falls.I think Uncle Mike belived that the history behind things was very important and this theme was prevalent as he showed me around.Growing up when Uncle Mike would visit, my sisters and I could not escape being tickled and we fondly called him "The Tickle Monster". I shall miss Uncle Mike dearly and remember him lovingly.
