Dear Irene, Colin & Emma
So sorry we couldn't be with you today.
We have so many fond memories of Michael, such an amazing guy, so funny and loving.
Always loved his stories and tales of governments, football, work, family, Canada etc.
We particularly loved him coming over to England with Emma to our wedding in 2012. Such an amazing effort when he wasn't very well at that time. We are eternally grateful.
He fought a brave battle for such a long time. What a guy.
love
Graham & Surinder

I was so shocked and saddened to learn the news about Michael. It is difficult to say something helpful about such an awful event, but I hope that you- Irene, Colin and Emma, and other family and friends all cope as well as possible at such a sad time.
Michael was such a wonderful person and I was honoured to know him for the 20 years when I visited from England. I shall also miss our long phone calls- I think because we each so valued the personal touch of a discussion; everything from talking about his hobbies of photography and birdwatching, to what was happening in the world to good old English football. Such an interesting person, you were always so thoughtful and kind.
Best wishes, Stephen

Michael,I was 13mths.old when you were born. We shared a cot & pram.As children, we played with 'our gang'. We roamed the fields, & nearby woods - tying ropes to tree branches, & swinging high into the air.We also played games in the street until bedtime. Carefree days.
In 1973 you married and began your married life in Canada.
We visited each other for holidays, weddings, etc. I always enjoyed your company and felt our bond was strong even though we were miles apart.Whenever we phoned each other, we often talked for an hour or more.
You thought it was fate that brought me to visit last September. After your terrible diagnosis you said to me-'come on Mo, lets go for a walk in the park'.
All these years you have shown magnificent courage & I am proud to be your sister.I tell mum you are happy & doing well & she says 'Oh that's good'.
Well Mike, be happy in Heaven, chatting away to all our loved ones. RIP & sweet dreams.Love you always, Maureen & Mum xxxx.

Irene, Colin and Emma,
Although it's been quite a few years since we've seen each other, we have so many fond memories of Mike during our St. Catharines Standard days: dancing at Christmas parties, sharing in each others weddings, births, divorces, not to mention the parting of many loved ones.
Mike was a great guy! We'll always remember his love of music, singing and dancing.
May he rest in peace and we hope and pray that the loving memories you have of him will bring you comfort in the days, the months and years ahead.

My sincere condolences, to all his family and friends. Michael was always a good friend, we worked closely together at Electro-Motive as Stock-keepers for many years.
I knew about his battle with cancer his fight to save his heart, he gave me courage and strength. He was a special man and very brave, and never gave up the fight. My memories of Michael will always be remembered. I even knew about his love for photography and his family, he also took beautiful photos and he shared many with me.
Be at peace my good friend as you will stand beside God and all your loved ones in heaven. May God bless your soul and all your family.

To my loving Dad,
I could not have asked for a more wonderful, funny, energetic, understanding, selfless person to call my father. I will miss so many things we used to do together,so many special memories from laying on your chest all day when I was a child and had chicken pox to driving to Toronto last year looking for an apartment. Thank you for your endless support, you meant the world to me and you will always have a special place in my heart. I will never ever forget you dad, please watch over us.
Miss and love you, Emma xoxox

Mickey,
It only seems like yesterday that we started our apprenticeship at Cammell Lairds Shipyard in Birkenhead. I remember being in the Stirrup Pub when we decided that we were going to emigrate to Canada. Some of the lads that were going to go with us decided to go to Jersey in the Channels Islands instead. The big day came and we boarded the plane in Liverpool going to Heathrow to get the plane to St. John, NB stopping in Gander NF to go through customs. We looked out the door and the only thing we could see was snow. I said to you " I think we have made a mistake here mate".
A long time ago and a lot of water under the bridge since then.
Over the years we have shared a lot, recently you got me into photography and you have been a big inspiration to me. Your love for nature, and keen eye for capturing the bird at the right moment has motivated me .
I will miss you mate and I will never forget all the times we have shared.
RIP
Robbie
